blueEX API Integration and Store Plugins Guide

A plain guide for store owners and developers: the blueEX store plugins, what they do, what to ask about custom connections and how to keep your keys safe.

This guide does not describe a public blueEX tracking API. Store connections are for approved business customers. blueEX provides login details and technical information privately after you open a business account.

Why Connect Your Store?

When a shop sends many parcels a day, typing each order into a booking portal takes time and causes mistakes. A store connection sends order details to the courier for you.

blueEX is the brand of Universal Network Systems Limited, listed on the GEM board of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (scrip GEMUNSL). Its store connections can create tracking numbers, print airway bills and send tracking updates back to your store.

What the blueEX Store Connections Do

blueEX says its Shopify app and WooCommerce plugin can:

Booking Parcels

Send the buyer’s details, address and any COD amount to blueEX and create a 10-digit tracking number for the parcel.

Print airway bills for many parcels at once, ready for packing.

Status Updates

Send status updates from blueEX back to your store, so you can see where each parcel is.

Shopify and WooCommerce Connections

If your shop runs on Shopify or WooCommerce, you can use blueEX’s own add-ons instead of building a connection yourself:

WooCommerce Plugin

blueEX’s WooCommerce plugin connects a WordPress shop to your blueEX account. Ask blueEX for the current set-up steps.

Shopify App

The blueEX Shopify app, published by Universal Network Systems, connects your Shopify store to your blueEX account.

Your Own Software

If your business uses its own software, ask blueEX whether a direct connection is available and how to set it up.

Status Updates Sent to Your Store

blueEX says its store connections send status updates back to your store as the parcel moves. This saves you checking each parcel by hand.

These updates can keep your order records current. Test them with a few orders before you rely on them to message buyers.

Keeping Keys and Logins Safe

Store connection keys can book parcels and see buyer addresses, so protect them carefully:

Keep Keys on Your Server

Keep secret keys on your server only. Never put them in website code that runs in the browser or in a mobile app.

Avoid Duplicate Bookings

Make sure your system does not send the same order twice if the connection is slow, so you do not book two parcels for one order.
